Nicola Brentnall, director of the Queen’s Trust delivered an in depth session for the Trustee Academy, on the role trustees play when their organisations seek funding.

As Director of a major UK trust, Nicola takes a holistic view of the role trustees play. In this short video she looks at the importance of governance beyond the fundamental legal and financial responsibilities, the current issues facing the sector and the benefits of board diversity.

Crucially, she concludes, being a trustee brings a great deal of satisfaction to bring “your expertise, your insight, your experience and your passion for a cause that you care about a great deal”.
